Description

Overview

The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is a hugely ambitious Trust. We want all our patients, staff, and partners to reach their potential, and we're fiercely proud of our hospitals (Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital at Stafford) and our people. With an annual turnover of c£840m and over 11,000 dedicated staff we are one of the country’s largest University Trusts and provide a wide range of acute and specialist healthcare services to our local populations in Staffordshire, South Cheshire and Shropshire as well as being a Major Trauma Centre for a wider population of 3 million people.

Over the last few years, we have achieved significant improvements in the quality and efficiency of our services and we continue to deliver an ambitious programme of work aligned with our ‘Vision2025’ to be a world-class centre of achievement, where patients receive the highest standards of care and the best people come to learn, work and research.  Our services represent more than half of the Staffordshire health and social care economy and we are working collaboratively through ‘Together We’re Better’ with our partners and our public to integrate services, deliver more of these closer to home and create a sustainable model for the future.

About the role

Our new Associate Non-Executive Director will join a cohesive and inspiring Board team focused on putting patients and staff at the heart of all our strategic decisions.

We are seeking an Associate Non-Executive Director who can make a broad contribution to our Board.  For this role we are interested to hear from leaders with transferable leadership experience from either the private or public sector, gained in a customer focused environment and with experience in developing effective partnerships.

For this position we warmly encourage applications from people from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic communities to improve the diversity of our board and provide a fresh and different perspective to our strategic decision making.  We are seeking inspirational and inclusive leaders who have operated at or near Board level, who can bring a strong understanding of good governance, a patient focus and positive energy to challenge and support our Board and help us to continue our journey of improvement. These are unrivalled opportunities to influence transformation across our organisation and system to proudly improve services for our communities.
